NYAA
The National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) was officially launched on 9 May 1992 by the President of the Republic of Singapore at the Istana. The aim of the NYAA Programme is to encourage young people to develop personal qualities of self-reliance, perseverance and a sense of responsibility to themselves, to society and to the nation. It allows young people to fortify their character and resolve while setting personal goals. Target for all pupils is at least a Bronze Award.
Summary of General Conditions
1. Participation in the scheme is voluntary and open to all young people between the ages of 14 and 25.
2. Participants need to purchase a Record Book at a cost of $7 to log all activities undertaken during the period of involvement.
3. There are three Awards;
a) Bronze for those over 14 yrs of age
b) Silver for those over 15 yrs of age
c) Gold for those over 16 yrs of age
4. The criterion for gaining an Award is individual improvement through persistence and achievement, taking into account participants’ initial capabilities, without any element of competition between participants.
5. For each Award, participants have to complete the following section requirements

6. Completion of each Section must be certified by the assessor for that chosen activity.
